SV	Want in het achtste jaar zijner regering, toen hij nog een jongeling was, begon hij den God zijns vaders Davids te zoeken; en in het twaalfde jaar begon hij Juda en Jeruzalem van de hoogten en de bossen, en de gesneden en de gegoten beelden te reinigen.
WLC	וּבִשְׁמֹונֶ֨ה שָׁנִ֜ים לְמָלְכֹ֗ו וְהוּא֙ עֹודֶ֣נּוּ נַ֔עַר הֵחֵ֕ל לִדְרֹ֕ושׁ לֵאלֹהֵ֖י דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֑יו וּבִשְׁתֵּ֧ים עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֗ה הֵחֵל֙ לְטַהֵ֔ר אֶת־יְהוּדָה֙ וִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם מִן־הַבָּמֹות֙ וְהָ֣אֲשֵׁרִ֔ים וְהַפְּסִלִ֖ים וְהַמַּסֵּכֹֽות׃
Trans.	ûḇišəmwōneh šānîm ləmāləḵwō wəhû’ ‘wōḏennû n^a‘ar hēḥēl liḏərwōš lē’lōhê dāwîḏ ’āḇîw ûḇišətêm ‘eśərēh šānâ hēḥēl ləṭahēr ’eṯ-yəhûḏâ wîrûšālaim min-habāmwōṯ wəhā’ăšērîm wəhapəsilîm wəhammassēḵwōṯ:

AC	ג ובשמונה שנים למלכו והוא עודנו נער החל לדרוש לאלהי דויד אביו ובשתים עשרה שנה החל לטהר את יהודה וירושלם מן הבמות והאשרים והפסלים והמסכות
ASV	For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the Asherim, and the graven images, and the molten images.
BE	In the eighth year of his rule, while he was still young, his heart was first turned to the God of his father David; and in the twelfth year he undertook the clearing away of all the high places and the pillars and the images of wood and metal from Judah and Jerusalem.
Darby	And in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the Asherahs, and the graven images, and the molten images.
